As an example, in July 2020, PepsiCo joined a group of global consumer goods companies, including Unilever, to make and market the first paper bottle that could be recycled. This bottle was first made by Diageo and Pilot Lite.
Due to people's busy lives, food delivery and takeout have spread around the world. This has made more people want to buy recyclable food packing. Mobile food is another trend that is increasing the need for recyclable food packing.
Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, people want more safe and clean packaging that is easy to reuse and recycle. This is making the market for recyclable food packaging grow.
Environmental problems like smog and global warming are making people give up disposable and non-biodegradable packing. Plastic and other harmful packing materials that end up in the ocean hurt the ecosystem there, and watery animals die when they eat or get caught in the trash.
Some packing materials contain BPA and benzene, which are also bad for people's health and can sometimes cause cancer, high blood pressure, and breathing problems.
