Abrasives Market
November 2023- The INDASA Group has introduced the new Rhynogrip Mesh Line abrasive range. This new open mesh structure abrasive is set to redefine the sanding experience by maximizing productivity and virtually eliminating dust, offering a leap forward in user efficiency. The Rhynogrip Mesh Line's electrostatic coating provides an extra layer of resilience, ensuring that the abrasive maintains its performance even under the most demanding conditions. This innovative coating combines with a mineral grain to extend the abrasives' working life, enabling them to cut faster and longer. The open mesh structure prevents clogging, extending the life of the abrasive and reducing the need for frequent replacements, resulting in considerable time and cost savings. Secondly, the enhanced extraction system keeps dust contaminants out, ensuring a cleaner working environment and making it safer and more efficient for the operator.
November 2023- Mirka (UK) Ltd will launch the "first abrasive developed purely for the woodworking sector" this October. Ultimax® Ligno has been designed with an 'hourglass' pattern, which achieves optimal performance and effectiveness on wood substrates, ensuring optimal material removal, surface finish quality, durability, and sustainability. Ultimax® Ligno combines innovation with robust consideration for the environment. The production method reduces energy consumption as the process of curing the glue is more efficient. It also has superior adhesion with VOC-free resin, guaranteeing a reliable and healthier choice for both users and the environment. Its ceramic has been mixed with Blue Fired Alox grains, meaning that the abrasive's surface channels serve as pathways to direct the smooth movement of wood fibers to extraction holes, preventing clogging and enhancing sanding quality. In fact, it accelerates sanding operations by maintaining the cleanliness of abrasive grains for uninterrupted cutting. It prevents the formation of a 'blanket' of dust between the grains and the sanded surface. 3M opened its first robotics lab more than 30 years ago to help customers figure out how to automate with 3M products.
