    On Sep. 19, 2023, Skanda Aerospace Technology Pvt. Ltd. (SATPL), a collaborative venture between Raghu Vamsi Machine Tools, Hyderabad, India, and Rave Gears LLC, USA, inaugurated their first cutting-edge gear and gearboxes manufacturing facility. SATPL is dedicated to aerospace-grade gear production, representing a significant leap towards advancing aerospace manufacturing within the nation and strengthening India's aerospace and defense capabilities.


    On July 11, 2023, Heli-One, a provider of helicopter in-service support services, announced a gearbox maintenance partnership with Airbus. Under the partnership, Heli-One would provide gearbox maintenance service for the Airbus H175M helicopter. This strategic initiative aims to acquire a modern medium-lift support helicopter to replace several existing aircraft, including the Airbus Puma HC2, currently operated by the Royal Air Force.


    On May 24, 2023, General Electric (GE) announced the expansion of its partnership with the aerospace and defense tier manufacturer Triumph Group Inc.'s geared solutions business to supply inlet gearboxes (IGB) for all three variants of the LEAP commercial aircraft engine. Several inlet gearboxes will be manufactured and supplied over the next decade for LEAP commercial aircraft engines, witnessing growing demand for power plants for narrow-body jets. The number of IGBs will likely be determined by commercial aircraft production activity and the number of LEAP engines required by aircraft OEMs.


    On Feb.07, 2023, Airbus Helicopters launched an upgraded main gearbox, eMGB, for the H225 as part of its mission to invest in the heavy-twin to raise safety standards and reduce the maintenance workload. The new gearbox will take the component's time before overhaul (TBO) to 2,000h from 1,000h.
