A modular, cost-effective electric power steering system called the Modular Rack-Assist Electric Power Steering (mREPS) system was introduced by Nexteer Automotive. With its flexibility, Nexteer's mREPS is able to effectively satisfy the many OEM requirements for sophisticated steering systems in heavier cars, such as electric vehicles and light commercial vehicles.
A full-cylindrical integrated powerpack is another feature of Nexteer's mREPS, which enables SAE ADAS Levels 3 to 5 to achieve improved safety and dependability in a small package. Furthermore, mREPS provides responsive steering with specially designed, high-performance torque and position sensors.
