Aliaxis, located in Brussels, announced the $250 million purchase, expanding its portfolio by acquiring pipe production sites in Arizona and Washington.
Valencia Pipe Co. in the US has a manufacturing business that Aliaxis SA has agreed to purchase. With the $250 million transaction, Aliaxis will have more presence in the important western US market thanks to the addition of two manufacturing facilities and a distribution hub in Arizona and Washington.
Valencia Pipe, a company based in Valencia, California, manufactures PVC, ABS, steel, and other pipes, among other things, mostly for residential uses that adhere to or surpass plumbing regulations. It belongs to VPC Global, a company whose product line also includes materials and gas tubes.
The 'Growth with Purpose' strategy of Aliaxis will benefit from this acquisition, which will enable it to provide its national clients a true coast-to-coast presence. Valencia's manufacturing division for plastic pipes and fittings provides two cutting-edge facilities and a distribution centre, offering IPEX, Aliaxis' top brand in North America, a very complementary geographic and product match.

The largest manufacturer of steel pipes in Turkey, Borusan Mannesmann, has begun talks with Europipe GmbH, a manufacturer of steel pipes in Germany, to purchase all issued and outstanding shares of capital stock in Berg Europipe Holding Corp., Europipe's US subsidiary. Berg Pipe Panama and Mulheim, both in Germany, are the locations of production facilities for longitudinal seam-welded large-diameter pipes owned by Europipe, which has its headquarters in the Ruhr region of Germany.
The Turkish mills of Borusan Mannesmann have capabilities of 750,000 mt/year for ERW pipes and 300,000 mt/year for spiral pipes. At its Vobarno plant in Italy, the company has a 28,000 mt/year capability to make cold-drawn special pipe.
