    Latest Company Updates:

October 2023- Motorola Demonstrates Foldable Phone With Flexible Screen That Can Coil Around Wrists. The Lenovo division displayed its bendable pOLED concept phone at the yearly Lenovo Tech World 2023 on Tuesday. This new smartphone design has a full-HD+ pOLED display and can be curved backward and wrapped around a wrist similar to a wristband or smartwatch. The adaptable screen idea can be positioned in various stand modes. The device can remain upright on its own as a bipod, providing a hands-free experience for the user.

June 2023- Engineers at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign have created a new type of display screen that uses movable fins, changing temperatures, and liquid drops placed in different positions to form images. The research from the university makes displays possible that can alter color, communicate data, and even send hidden messages through infrared light. This is achievable due to the development of an entirely new category of displays needing little energy, able to be sized up or down, and flexible enough to put on curved exterior surfaces. The University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign engineers' new display screens utilize adjustable fins, varying heat, and fluid droplets arranged in multiple orientations to generate visuals.

January 2023- Apple has received a patent from the US Patent and Trademark Office for a foldable display that is resistant to cracking. The patent application details a multi-layered design with a flexible base layer and a protective top layer that prevents cracks during regular use. Apple has also been granted a patent for a "self-healing" display that can recover from minor scratches. This display uses multiple layers as well, including a flexible substrate, a transistor layer, and a protective top layer that enables the screen to repair small scratches. Overall, Apple's patented designs aim to create durable and damage-resistant foldable displays using layered constructions with flexible components and protective coatings.
