August 2023- The new cantilever glass bridge at Vagamon, the longest in India, along with the helicopter taxi service at Kumily are expected to attract many Idukki tourists this Onam. Officials of the District Tourism Promotion Authority (DTPC) said that the route of the 40-metre-long glass bridge constructed at Vagamon by DTPC and Perumbavoor based Bharat Mata Ventures has been opened to visitors. Full helitaxi service from Pathumuri Heliport to Kumily will run from 9am to 3pm on Sundays. The two-person service will transport tourists from Vagamon area to Munna by helicopter.
June 2023- The Department of Tourism of Uttar Pradesh is set to start a helicopter service between Agra and Mathura. State cabinet approved leasing of city helipads to Rajas Aerosports and Adventures Private Limited under the Public Private Partnership (PPP) model. In the next two to four years, the project will operate in 20 to 25 cities within the state.
