October 2023- Sustainable and intelligent solutions company Demgy Group(Saint-Aubin-sur-Gaillon, France) announces the acquisition of I.S. Aircraft GmbH (Euskirchen), a German company specializing in the production of thermoplastic and composite components for the aerospace industry. The purchase will enable Demgy to consolidate its activities in Germany and strengthen its European leadership, promoting its processing of high-value-added plastics, high-performance polymers, and composites for the aeronautics sector. The company is combined under the Demgy E.I.S. GmbH name. E.I.S. Aircraft is a long-standing industrial player specializing in cabin interiors, with the production of custom and standard components. It has industrial know-how in composites and plastic injection molding, crucial for Tier 1 suppliers and a large number of O.E.M.s. E.I.S. Aircraft holds numerous patents for products designed and manufactured in its factories and is unique in that it manufactures its tools and molds and assembles its products.
September 2023- KraussMaffei(K.M.) is working to bring its automated, high production-rate, injection molding-based thermoplastic composite technologies to the burgeoning advanced and urban air mobility markets. In partnership with Wichita State University's National Institute for Aviation Research (NIAR) and its Advanced Technologies Lab for Aerospace Systems (ATLAS) operation, K.M. has installed a 450-ton multimaterial injection molding machine to support high-pressure resin transfer molding (HP-RTM), ColorForm polyurethane overmolding and the FiberForm process for infrared oven preheating of composite sheets.
August 2020: Injection moldable thermoplastic elastomers were added to the Versaflex line by Avient Corporation (Formerly PolyOne). The product was created without using any derivatives from animals and can be used for a number of medical device applications.
June 2020: A 5,000 square foot manufacturing and office addition was made to the California location of Pacific Plastics Injection Molding, a subsidiary of Diversified Plastics Inc. This extension was carried out to boost output and ensure security.
August 2023: BASF announced the development of a new bio-based nylon resin called PA 6.10 CF, which is made from renewable resources and is reinforced with carbon fiber for added strength and stiffness. The new resin is expected to be used in a variety of applications, including automotive parts, sporting goods, and electronics
