    September 2023- Creating the revival of the shipbuilding industry at Dakshina Kannada, the Udupi Cochin Shipyard Ltd, Karnataka based central public sector shipyard introduced 62 T bollard pull tug for the Adani Group company, Ocean Sparkle Limited. Udupi CSL is a completely owned subsidiary of the Cochin Shipyard Ltd, a premier shipyard with strong presence within India as well as Europe and has made prestigious aircraft carrier. Ocean Sparkle Limited and Adani Harbour Services Limited owns about 100 tugs & are the biggest tug owner as well as operator in India. It is also the foremost tug that is being developed under ASTDS promulgated by the Indian government to standardize tugs that operate in India as well as is a milestone success under the program of Atma Nirbhar Bharat.


    May 2023- Mitsubishi Shipbuilding, part of MHI Group & Nihon Shipyard Co., Ltd have begun a joint study to develop an ocean-going liquified CO2 or LCO2 carrier. The Nihon Shipyard is in fact pursuing this project with an aim to complete the vessel construction from the year 2027 onwards. The project is likely to take the advantage of the knowledge as well as cutting edge gas handling technology which Mitsubishi Shipbuilding had acquired both in designing & constructing liquified gas carries LPG (liquified petroleum gas) and LNG or liquified natural gas along with the wealth of the shipbuilding experience for assorted forms of vessels and latest technology capabilities which Nihon Shipyard had over the years accumulated as strengths which can ne supplemented mutually.
