    • October 2022: ZimVie introduced the Virage navigation system for spinal implants, such as rods, screws, and other hardware. Spinoff company Zimmer Biomet, known for their dentistry and spine products, created the Virage occipital-cervico-thoracic (OCT) spinal fixation system. The company's patented 360-degree omnidirectional extreme-angle screw is included.  In a press statement, ZimVie claimed that Virage cuts down on operating time and improves the accuracy of rod alignment. According to the company, the 112° of conical movement available in their screws makes for more precise screw placement. ZimVie updated the Virage technology to make it compatible with commercially available navigation systems. It also facilitates the placement of polyaxial screws in the spine and the navigation of bone preparation devices. According to ZimVie, it works in tandem with the company's existing Vital navigation system for the thoracolumbar spine.

    • Spine Wave's revolutionary modular screw design, featured in the Salvo® 5.5/6.0mm Spine System, was released to the public after a successful restricted market release. In order to deal with issues of cortical bone trajectory and low-profile transpedicular surgeries, Spine Wave released the Salvo® 4.75mm Spine System in late 2020. The Salvo® 5.5/6.0mm Spine System is now available for thoracolumbar spine fixation operations that utilize the most common rod diameters of 5.5mm and 6.0mm. Spine Wave's position in the thoracolumbar fixation market will be further strengthened by the addition of the Salvo® Spine System, which is now available with 4.75mm, 5.5mm, and 6.0mm titanium and cobalt chromium rods.
