The Carbopol SC-800 rheology modifier, a new product has been launched by Lubrizol. In mild and sulfate-free surfactant formulations as well as low surfactant formulations, Lubrizol's new rheology modifier has been tuned to deliver effective viscosity, long-term thermal stability, and excellent clarity.

The polyacrylic acid known as carbopol SC-800 polymer is intended for use in thickening and stabilizing cleaning solutions. To improve its effectiveness and processing ease for difficult surfactant systems, crosslinker levels, hydrophobic content, and surface modification have been balanced.

When compared to other hydrophobically modified polymers, studies have shown that the Carbopol SC-800 polymer exhibits the best thickening efficiency, clarity, and suspension properties. This gives formulators the freedom to design distinctive aesthetics for their skin-cleansing formulas, such as effortlessly and confidently suspending natural beads, scrubs, and other cleansing components.

Studies on the production of foam also revealed that the new polymer had no detrimental effects on the volume or morphology of the foam produced.
