The clinic provides a contemporary take on this ancient Chinese treatment, which aims to improve one's health on all fronts through a re-balancing of the body's chi force. Professionals at Gentle Wellness Center are well-versed in administering this tried-and-true treatment for a wide range of illnesses. While the therapy's original purpose was to alleviate pain, its current uses, which now include stress management, are expanding rapidly. Acupuncture is believed to be beneficial because it stimulates nerves and the body's natural painkillers are released, but the traditional Chinese view of the therapy is on balancing 'chi', the lifeforce or energy that travels through the human body.

July 2022: HKT's centralized telemedicine platform DrGo announced a collaboration with the River Cam Chinese Medicine & Acupuncture Clinic and the South Kwai Chung Social Service Office to initiate the Kwai Tsing TCM Telemedicine Programme, which will provide 100 free Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) video consultation service sessions to residents of the Kwai Tsing district. Patients can schedule a 30-minute telemedicine video consultation through the Kwai Tsing TCM Telemedicine Programme, and they will get their recommended medicines for at least two days, along with a drug delivery service, if a prescription is given. Residents of the Kwai Tsing district (up to 100) who qualify for the program will get TCM care to enhance their quality of life post-pandemic. This includes individuals with chronic COVID symptoms.
