August 2023- Aequs, one of the major contract manufacturing companies in India involved in making aircraft structures and systems, will enter the aircraft seat manufacturing business with a new division. The company established a precision engineering special economic zone in Belagavi, Karnataka in 2009, prior to setting up the Belagavi Aerospace Cluster (BAC).
June 2023- Recaro Aircraft Seating, a worldwide provider of high-end airplane seats for airlines, has introduced a new seat located by the overwing exit. This permits a higher number of passengers while still meeting the 13-inch passageway requirements from the European Union Aviation Safety Agency and the US Federal Aviation Administration. With the X-Tend Seat, A320 airlines will be able to expand seating capacity from 190 to 194 passengers. Recaro Aircraft Seating is aiming the new seat at short and medium range economy cabin layouts for the narrow-body Airbus A320 family.
May 2023- IndiGo airlines has announced the arrival of its first plane, BL3710, fitted with Recaro Aircraft Seating's economy class seats. The airline said it chose Recaro seats for its new fleet of A320neo and A321neo planes. The lightweight seats have a customized trim and finish and many comfort features like built-in neck support, an ergonomic backrest, and generous legroom. Adding these new seats to their brand new A321neo planes will improve the overall travel experience for customers by providing more comfort and convenience on short and medium flights.
