Apr 2023: According to an announcement, the Department of Veterans Affairs is pausing its expensive electronic health record upgrade project with Oracle indefinitely to fix problems at five sites where the fresh system had been implemented. The project was taken up by Oracle Cerner, which acquired the troubled endeavor for about $30 billion last June under a $16 billion contract. Executives pledged to put the rollout "back on track" in response to continued congressional scrutiny in 2023. According to the release, the VA and Oracle Cerner are collaborating to draft a revised contract to put more of the tech giant's "accountability to provide a high-reliability, high-functioning, world-class EHR system" on the department.

Oct 2023: To guarantee that clients' prescriptions will be filled throughout Rite Aid's bankruptcy, drugstore chain Rite Aid and medication supplier McKesson Corp. have resolved a significant dispute, according to attorneys on Tuesday. The same morning, Rite Aid declared Chapter 11 bankruptcy in New Jersey and sued McKesson to prevent the latter from ending a drug supply arrangement that supplies 98% of the prescription medicine sales for the pharmacy chain. Once the settlement is complete, Rite Aid will present it to the judge for approval.
