Grupo Lamosa is set to pay €425 million to acquire Grupo Baldocer, a global leader in tile manufacturing. Two payments are planned for the purchase: a first payment of €354 million at the time the deal closes, and a second payment in 2025 for at least €71 million, though the exact amount may change based on the outcome.
With operations in nine countries and a history spanning more than 130 years in the building materials sector, Grupo Lamosa is the second-largest producer of ceramics globally. The company specializes in the production and marketing of ceramic tiles, adhesives, and insulation.
It produced 215.3 million square meters and brought in €1,700 million in revenue worldwide in the previous year. With 19 production facilities across Latin America and one in Spain, the group is well-positioned in the region.

The nation's top multinational tile manufacturer, RAK Ceramics (Bangladesh), plans to renovate its facility as its machinery ages. One of its four tile production lines will be shut down for three months, starting on August 9, for maintenance and modifications, the company announced.
The company claimed that because of the unavailability of sufficient gas, rising gas and electricity prices, a highly volatile foreign exchange market, disruptions to the global supply chain, rising costs for all input raw materials and shipping goods, its gross profit margin fell from 29.66% to 25.25%.
Due to production being hindered by the gas crisis, RAK Ceramics reported a 26% decrease in net profit earlier in 2022.
