In 2023, the Health & Family Welfare Department introduced two "Modified Food Safety on Wheels" in Kohima on August 30 as part of the "strengthening of food safety ecosystem in the state" Nagaland Food Safety Project project. Food Safety on Wheels' primary responsibilities include testing surveillance samples, educating consumers and food business operators (FBOs) on food safety in both urban and rural settings, and providing on-site testing facilities for common food adulterations.

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) today stated that it will be launching a multi-phase initiative in 2023 with the goal of enhancing the evidence supporting claims of producing animals. In order to safeguard consumers from deceptive and fraudulent labels and to carry out President Biden's Executive Order on Fostering Competition in the American Economy, the USDA has already made tremendous progress. This action expands on that work.

The dd-Check STEC Solution, developed by Bio-Rad Laboratories, Inc., was introduced in 2019 with the goal of identifying virulence genes in Escherichia coli (STEC) that produce Shiga toxins. The existence of both stx1 and stx2, along with eae, in a single E. coli bacterium is referred to be pathogenic STEC. The kit is the first commercially available test for identifying the coexistence of the STEC virulence genes in a single bacterium. It uses Bio-Rad's Droplet Digital PCR (ddPCR) technology and offers quick and accurate confirmation of the presence of pathogenic STEC.
