October 2023- Urban Company, a Hyperlocal services unicorn, has plundered into the labeled products category with the release of the latest variety of smart RO water purifiers under the sub-brand 'Native'. Urban Company claims that Native is India's first-ever product variety of water purifiers that require no servicing for two years and can offer an output of 12,000 liters of pure water without any need to change filters. For context, other players in the market space include — Livpure and DrinkPrime. Native water purifiers are 100% made in India and have 'rapid reverse rinse' technology and multi-micron filter surfaces that allow filters to last for two years, lowering the net ownership costs for consumers. Urban Company has introduced two models of RO water purifiers – M1 and M2. As the Native M2 water purifier will be available at the launch price of INR 17,499, the M1 model will be at INR 13,499. The manufacturer also asserted that the IoT feature in the M2 version of its RO device could assist consumers in tracking real-time Total Dissolved Solids (TDS) levels, water intake, and filter life status on their Urban Company app. The products are presently available on the Urban Company website and app and on Amazon. They will be accessible offline in Croma stores as well.
