Modular construction companies are revolutionizing the construction industry. They employ innovative techniques to create sustainable, cost-effective, and time-efficient building solutions. By assembling modules off-site and then transporting and integrating them into final structures, these companies are changing the way we build everything from homes to commercial complexes.

Together with the manufacturer Kone, Laing O'Rourke has developed a modular lift system that, according to the firms, will speed up on-site installation. The standard recommendation for lift installation is one week per floor. A three-story lift module may be installed by project teams using the new method in approximately 90 minutes.

A solution that was first employed on cruise ships about ten years prior was advanced by Laing O'Rourke and Kone in 2020 on Building S5 in King's Cross.

During the installation of the shafts, workers are not inconvenienced by the typical number of deliveries or the proliferation of exclusion zones. This is due to the fact that volumetric frames are made off-site before being built, packaged, safeguarded, and stored in preparation for delivery on site.

With a long-standing offsite strategy, Laing O'Rourke hopes to have 90% of its construction work completed in factories by 2025.

Triple M Modular Housing, a manufacturer of factory-built, modular housing situated in Lethbridge, Alberta, has been acquired by Atco Ltd.

According to the Calgary-based structures and logistics company, Triple M will serve as an exclusive housing division of Atco Structures in Canada.

Global solutions for worker housing, hotels, hospitals, schools, multi-family housing, and more are offered by ATCO Structures. With a wider selection of modular goods for customers to choose from, including residential, commercial, and industrial items, this purchase strengthens ATCO's position as a global inventor and leader in modular construction.
