Atlas Copco has added a brand-new battery-operated portable screw air compressor to its lineup of portable electric products. The B-Air 185-12 has a 55-kWh battery storage capacity, a steady flow rate of 5.4-3.7 m3/min, and a pressure range of 5–12 bar.
When fully charged, a fully functional unit can operate for up to an entire standard work shift without the need for fuel or an external power source to be plugged in. This is made possible by the onboard power pack. For those who work at locations where regular access to electricity is impractical, it also offers portability.
Only 2,000 hours are required for servicing the electric B-Air 185-12. By automatically adjusting the motor speed to match air demand in real-time, the machine's permanent magnet motor and Variable Speed Drive (VSD) reduce the total cost of ownership.
The B-Air 185-12 has been shown to function in extreme climate conditions, ranging from +45°C (+113°F) to a glacial -25°C (-13°F); and 4,500 m (14,764 ft.) above sea level, through Atlas Copco's testing process, which includes rapid aging testing under harsh conditions and climactic chamber testing.
