    Latest Company Updates:

September 2023 – Sony Semiconductor Solutions Corporation (SSS) on 16th September disclosed the upcoming launch of the IMX735, the latest CMOS image sensor for automotive cameras with the market's highest*1 pixel count, at 17.42 effective megapixels. The latest sensor product will back the advancement of automotive camera systems competent of experienced sensing and identification performance, thus providing safe, automated, and secure driving. For automated systems to offer automated driving, they should provide high-precision sensing, recognition performance, and sophistication, containing all 360 degrees of the surroundings around the vehicle. Hence, there is substantial demand for image sensors that can assist in attaining this new level of performance and back the growth of more advanced automotive camera systems. The new sensor product gets the trade's highest*1 pixel count of 17.42 effective megapixels, *2 allowing the user to high-definition capture of far-off objects.

Furthermore, automated driving systems frequently utilize automotive cameras along with LiDAR and other sensing systems. As usual, CMOS image sensors record signals output from pixels one vertical line at a time, and the product outputs signal flat, one row at a time. This implies that automotive cameras with this sensor can more effortlessly coordinate with mechanical scanning LiDAR*4. Therefore, their laser beams also scan horizontally. The better synchronization will enhance the recognition and sensing capabilities of the automated driving system. Moreover, the latest sensors' better saturation illuminance, made possible by a patented pixel structure, and an extraordinary exposure technique yield a wide dynamic range of 106 dB even when concurrently retaining LED flicker*5 mitigation and high dynamic range (HDR) imaging.
