September 2023: On Tuesday, a corporate blog reported that Elon Musk's controversial biotech venture, Neuralink, has begun recruiting for its first human clinical trial. Neuralink will soon begin delivering PRIME Study brain implants to individuals with paralysis, after clearance from an independent review board. Precise Robotically Implanted Brain-Computer Interface (PRIME) is being conducted to assess the device's viability and effectiveness. Patients in the trial will undergo surgery to implant a chip in the region of the brain that regulates motor planning. The original objective is "to grant people the ability to control a computer cursor or keyboard using their thoughts alone," and the chip, which will be implanted by a robot, will record and communicate brain signals to an app.

October 2023: In order to create the vital component of their brain implant, Precision Neuroscience purchased a factory in Dallas in October 2023. The business is beginning human trials of the implant in the hopes that it would one day enable paralyzed individuals to control electronic equipment with their thoughts. Furthermore, the FDA recognized Precision as a Breakthrough Device, an honor bestowed upon innovative medical tools that have the promise of transforming the care of seriously ill patients. The technology can rest comfortably on the surface of the brain and provide a high-resolution representation of neuronal activity in real time without causing any harm to the tissue. Along with Synchron, Paradromics, Blackrock Neurotech, and Elon Musk's Neuralink, Precision is creating technology for the rapidly expanding field of brain-computer interfaces (BCIs).List ofbrain implants Key companies in the market
