    • May 2023: IBM and the Universities of Tokyo and Chicago unveiled a 10-year, $100 million project during the G7 Summit in Japan to build a quantum-centric supercomputer with 100,000 qubits. A completely new and, yet, unfulfilled era of computing with outstanding performance is quantum-centric supercomputing. Even the most cutting-edge supercomputers of now may not be able to solve some of the most important problems in the world, but a 100,000-qubit system may.
