Oct 2023: Updates from Cisco have been made available to fix an emergency responder-related serious security hole that enables unauthenticated, remote attackers to sign into vulnerable systems using hard-coded credentials. The root account, which, according to the vendor, is often reserved for usage during development, has static user credentials, which leads to the vulnerability, tracked as CVE-2023-20101 (CVSS score: 9.8). Version 12.5(1) SU5 provides a fix for the problem that affected Cisco Emergency Responder Release 12.5(1) SU4. The product's other releases are unaffected. The networking equipment manufacturer claimed that it found the issue when doing internal security checks and that it is unaware of any nefarious applications of the vulnerability in the wild. Customers are urged to update to the newest version if there are no temporary workarounds.

Sep 2023:A generative artificial intelligence chatbot will be able to run on a laptop using a new Intel chip that will be available in December instead of using cloud data centers, according to the manufacturer. The technology, demonstrated by Intel at a conference for software developers in Silicon Valley, might allow companies and consumers to test ChatGPT-style services without sending private information from their computers. It is made feasible by updated AI data-crunching capabilities included in Intel's next "Meteor Lake" laptop CPU and by new software the company is providing.
