  Aug 2023: An article in FierceBiotech recently stated that Integra LifeSciences is still having trouble with the government, even after the company voluntarily recalled its regenerative tissue technology and stopped production at its Boston location. Integra's efforts to remedy issues are acknowledged in an FDA warning letter dated July 17th that was recently made public, but it deems them insufficient. The management of defective items is one of the main issues. The FDA brought to light a situation in which the business distributed a large quantity of Durepair collagen matrix without carrying out a thorough inquiry despite testing revealing elevated levels of bacterial endotoxin.

  Oct 2023: The Indian Drugs Controller has approved the first domestically created tissue engineering scaffold made of mammalian organs, a Class D biomedical device obtained from animals that can quickly heal skin wounds at a low cost with no scarring. Creating enhanced wound care solutions with animal ingredients is not new. However, local technology has not yet been able to produce high-quality goods that meet the Drugs Controller General's specifications. These products were, therefore, imported, which increased their cost. Researchers from the institute's Biomedical Technology Wing's Division of Experimental Pathology have created a novel method for creating scaffolds for tissue engineering using animal organs. Investigations carried out at the division over the previous 15 years on decellularised pig gall bladder and recovered extracellular matrix.
