Exhaust Heat Recovery System Latest Company Updates:

    September 2023

AC138 EVO, an environmentally friendly heating and cooling system, has been introduced by Eberspaecher. The newest product from Eberspaecher stands out for its naturally occurring CO2 refrigerant, integrated exhaust air function for heat recovery, and reduced complexity thanks to heat pump technology. The manufacturer claims that the roof-mounted system, which is specifically made for hybrid and battery electric buses, offers low complexity and high energy efficiency. Eberspaecher is extending its product line with the launch of the AC138 EVO platform.

The heat pump technology patented by Eberspaecher allows the AC138 EVO to achieve low power consumption during heating and cooling. Since natural CO2 refrigerant, or R744, is safer and environmentally friendly than chemical alternatives, Eberspaecher will be the first to introduce the system using it.

With the release of the RX 450h+, the first plug-in hybrid (PHEV) model of the RX, beginning with the 2024 model year, Lexus is advancing their wildly popular SUV. It is expected to be the costliest model in the lineup, but it promises to deliver features, power, and range beyond anything the Japanese brand has ever offered, all the while preserving the iconic style and engineering quality that its fans have come to expect.

In order to better reflect its increased power output of 295 horsepower from its revised hybrid system—which included an upgraded inverter and additional mechanical advancements like an exhaust heat recovery system to shorten warmup times and an exhaust gas recirculation system to increase fuel pumping efficiency—the RX hybrid model was renamed the RX 450h.
