Sanitized AG of Switzerland, with an office in Charlotte, North Carolina, has completed the EPA registration process for Butylbenzisothiazolinone (BBIT), providing local stock availability to assist the domestic market. BBIT is apparently a top-of-the-line, potent, secure, and adaptable antibacterial that offers effective defense against microbial attack as well as a remedy for deterioration, loss of physical characteristics, and offensive odors.

BBIT is made to regulate the development of microbes in a variety of applications. It is extremely efficient and widely available in a variety of compositions, including rubber, textiles, and plastics including PVC, polyolefins, polyesters, acrylics, silicone, and polyurethanes.

BBIT has been shown to be efficient against a variety of microorganisms, including fungi, algae, and bacteria. With a variety of isothiazolinone active ingredients for use in diverse textile and polymer applications, SANITISED offers a high-quality, cutting-edge range of products. These chemicals offer incredibly strong, long-lasting protection for materials against bacterial, fungal, and microbial invasion as well as the prevention of microbial-related discolorations.

Gelest Inc., a producer of metal-organic and organo-silicon additives for commercial production, has greatly improved and increased the manufacturing and formulation capabilities for its Biosafe organosilane antimicrobial product line. It is claimed that this project has significantly increased efficiency and enabled supply with larger economies of scale.

Contrary to most other antimicrobials, silicon-based antimicrobials work differently by first poisoning cells from the inside by altering their proteins and DNA. While imparting bacteriostatic, fungistatic, and algistatic properties and binding to substrates with silanol reactivity, Biosafe antimicrobial is said to be the only organosilane antimicrobial with EPA/FIFRA-registered uses of food contact substrates and an FDA exemption from tolerance.
